Tuesday Links: TGS Happened Edition

original-600x375

So either because not much was shown this year or because everyone is playing GTA V, I don’t think anyone noticed that TGS happened last week. But even though nobody cares anymore, SEGA still had a decent showing at the event. With them showing the first gameplay footage of Yakuza Ishin and Puyo Puyo Tetris. Also they bought Atlus and now everything is ruined for people in western countries who want Atlus games.

Monday Links: Obligatory Dreamcast Anniversary Post Edition

20090909dreamcastBecause only the American release date of a console matters, people decided that today is the 14th anniversary of the Dreamcast. And to celebrate this on Sonic Retro is me: the one staff member that didn’t even know about the Dreamcast until it was already dead! Or you can just take a look at the things SEGAbits is doing, that might also be a viable option. Also we might stream something later today.

Monday Links: What It’s Like in a Sardine Can Edition

Gamescom2013So last week I promised that I’d put up my impressions of the Sonic Lost World demo at Gamescom. Two problems presented itself, the first one being that there were a lot more people at Gamescom than anticipated. (Pictured right) So many more that it was hard to even walk past some the booths. So I left after two hours of literally squirming through the crowds. The other problem was that the demo available to the public there was the same demo previously playable at Summer of Sonic and Sonic Boom, of which we already have impressions up right here. The demo shown off last week was only playable on the press day.

So basically, the highly anticipated Gamescom demo impressions write-up has been cancelled. To make up for it, here are Monday Links done on an actual Monday again:

Tuesday Links – “Those Darn Aliens!” Edition

tuesdaytda_retro

Okay, even I wasn’t sure of what would happen on the release of Aliens: Colonial Marines when I wrote my initial preview of the game. If you’re a PC user, you could look over some fixes and patches a dedicated community is looking into. A real unfortunate turn out for a game that’s been in development for over six years. Either way, it’s a Monday Tuesday which we put off for a week, but word is still mum in the world of video games, which will change shortly. Until then, here are a few things that are worth your attention.
