While the re-release of Sonic Adventure 2 has only been officially announced for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 at the moment, it seems obvious enough that it will be coming to PC as well. After all, every other Dreamcast re-release so far has been released on PC as well and the upcoming ports of Jet Set Radio and NiGHTS Into Dreams will be available on the platform too. Now the ESRB listing has shows that you will be able to get SA2 on digital download services like Steam in it’s listing of the game.
Unlike the Dreamcast and Gamecube versions of the game, this version has gotten a rating of E10+. This is presumably because the rating didn’t exist yet when the game was originally released for those consoles. The reasons listed for the rating are “Mild Cartoon Violence” and “Mild Lyrics”. Apparently kiddies shouldn’t be listening to Unknown From M.E..

This made my day!!!! I miss this game soooo much its been since 04 that I actually had the game for the Dreamcast. Can’t wait x-))
“Ya damn right, Knuckles” in Death Chamber (I think) and in Wild Canyon “Yeah, Rouge, she’s sexy ‘n’ smooth.” Those mild lyrics.
The whole monologue conversation section in Death Chamber was removed in both SA2 and SA2B. It only stuck around in the OST release.
The whole soundtrack has some little oddities as well, such as listing additional lyrics to The Supernatural that don’t exist in the song at all.
Yeah, Knux’s stages did have some rather weird lyrical choices…
‘Yeah Rouge she’s sexy as hell’
Again, I knew all along it would be for PC.
SA2 (SA2B) on PC? I wonder how many hacks there will be for it. 😛 I don’t know how many SADX and Generations hacks are out there.
So Sonic Adventure 2 is retroactively the first Sonic game with an E10+ rating.
Rated E10+ for scaring San Fran kids with a crazy manic truck.
Like this wouldn’t come out for PC. :p
But now we have what we’ve wanted since 2003 so rejoice my friends (and let the hacking begin)!
I’ve been looking for an easy opportunity to get Sonic Adventure 2, and this Steam release looks like a pretty good way. 😀
Unless I am mistaken, the raps were actually written by hunnid-p [100-p] and not by the Japanese composers such as Fumie Kumatanu, Tomoya Ohtani or Kenichi Tokoi; the latter (I don’t remember which one(s) among them) simply wrote the music which the rap lyrics were layered over.
That’s how it works, yes.
“Wild n’ hungry, not damn thing funny
My philosophy: My knuckles and FEET!”
YES
I knew it was a good Idea to leave $20 in my Steam wallet!
A PC release can only mean one thing. HACKS! BOO YEAH!
Now, I wanna know the system requirements for that port.
No one can tell me this game needs more of an PC than 10 years old SADX does.
Than again, I gonna get it for consoles anyway, so I don’t really have to mind about PC specs 😀
Rated E 10+, eh? I can’t say I’m surprised, not with Rouge having fangs and her wiggly friends on the screen, anyway this is great news indeed, too bad HOTD4 didn’t come to Xbox and PC, why SEGA? WHY?!
