“Sonic Love” Will Make You His, Girl

I’ve told you about the games, I’ve told you about the jams. But tell me, how many people have the sheer talent to play Sonic the Hedgehog on the Game Gear without even having a cartridge inside it?

There is only one man. And that man is named DeStorm.

Using the music to the most well known Sonic level ever (that’s the Green Hill Zone for those keeping score), DeStorm lays down a track to jam while thinking of all those girls you surely couldn’t talk to because you were too busy trying to get all the Chaos Emeralds in Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Though I’m not sure what Pac-Man 3 is, you owe it to yourself to listen to his jam. Because, I mean, c’mon. You so fly, girl.

Oh, and don’t feed the trolls.

Jam Jam Here Comes The “Fresh Prince of Megamix”

So we here at Sonic Retro can’t help but listen to the jams. Sure, half the time it’s to Michael Jackson’s JAM, but the other half? Why, it’s to the one, the only, Will Smith (who surely created Sonic the Hedgehog in a parallel universe).

Though we’re all still waiting for the latest version of Sonic Megamix to hit the digital airwaves (and the bootlegged shores of Russia), Retro member RGamer2009 has created the musical symphony known only as “Fresh Prince of Megamix.” Taking the music from “Starry Night Zone” (which you can still drool over here) and mixing it with the greatest song ever made…well, you just have to listen. And listen you shall!

Is this how the people of Retro live like? Hmm…this might be alright.

Ice Cap remix is awesome and you should download it now.

Admittedly, Ice Cap Zone is one of video game music’s most re-arranged and remixed tracks out there—OCRemix released an entire album’s worth of Ice Cap remixes, for goodness’ sake. However, the saturation of fans’ takes on the song does not in any way dilute how amazingly awesome Ice Cold Retro is. Written by Joshua Morse, the remix was composed for Obligatory Ice Level Day at TheSpeedGamers and has a wonderful electro-funk flavor to it that feels both fresh and right at home in the Sonic canon of music.

Download it now at OCRemix. You won’t be disappointed.
