UPDATE: The Nintendo Switch version is being co-developed by Tantalus Games according to a Tweet from Christian Whitehead himself.
Shout out to fellow Melbourne devs @Tantalus_Games who are helping us out with the Switch version of Sonic Mania!

In addition, the Switch version also has a collector’s edition available for pre-order, at least in America.
Thought to be missing the jump to the new system, Sonic Mania was confirmed by Nintendo’s YouTube and new Switch website and will be coming to the new system this Spring. Alongside Sonic Mania, Puyo Puyo Tetris is finally getting a release outside of Japan, both on the Nintendo Switch and the PlayStation 4. Hit the jump to check out the trailer for Puyo Puyo Tetris.
No word on a release date for either just yet.

Really stoked about Puyo Puyo Tetris coming here. I’ve wanted to play it since it came out.!
I know I should of kept up with it but why in the world did they not just have the Switch version mentioned in the first place when it was announced? The new 3d game showed the NX icon when it was announced. Why not Mania? I would of gladly pre ordered that version if I knew it was going to be for the system. Oh well I still have the PC version.
Probably because at that point a Switch version wasn’t in development. The team behind Sonic Mania is way smaller than the team behind Project Sonic 2017, plus it’s possible that they didn’t have a dev kit. Even now they may not have one seeing how the Switch version is being handled by a different studio.
you’d think they would have made a brand new trailer for Nintendo Switch, but no they decided to be lazy and stick with the original trailer and put the Nintendo Switch logo at the end with the other logos.
Funny thing is, they didn’t just put the Switch logo at the end. They re-edited several parts of the trailer. The way the developer logos pop up is different, there are a couple of bits where they use different footage, and they show a bit more of the logo animation.
Oh I didn’t even notice that. Cool to see Sega doing more than just changing the logos around. Guess I’m getting the PS4 and Switch versions.
Oh wonderful. I preorder the PS4 collectors addition only to see this. I kinda wish they had shown that back in July since Project 2017 had hinted at being on the Switch but oh well. Two versions for me! Games fun to play anyways
