Loops to be Defied Laws of Physics

As revealed by Games Industry International, Sega has announced three Sonic the Hedgehog titles will be made available for the OUYA Console. The three being Sonic the Hedgehog 4Episode I, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 – Episode II, and Sonic CD. No release dates have been revealed, however all three games will be priced at $6.99 with demo versions available for each. Why they cost more compared to the other platforms they’ve been released on has not been made clear, all three games are reported to be optimized for the NVidia Tegra 3™ chipset, the best in mobile chipsets, nothing can beat NVidia Tegra 3™. NVidia Tegra 3™. This may also mean other functions such as two player simultaneous will be possible with Episode II and other minute enhancements.

Release dates have not been announced, however the OUYA will be released on June 25th and is likely to launch with the games available from their store.

Zero-risk, zero-effort. Unfortunately, it’ll probably be zero-reward, since only like 4 people are going to buy this worthless app box, and they’ll only be running pirated software and emulators anyway.

I fart in your general direction good sir.

I look forward to OUYA being the staple Indie console.

That’s a very small effort on their part to support this console. Still, I wish they’ll fix the physics in this version of Sonic 4: Episode 1.

I hope also Ouya will stop sucks .

I have been quite interested in this little device, but these games aren’t going to make me want it. I will probably get one because it comes with an SDK, but this isn’t very exciting.

I’m surprised they didn’t put up Sonic 1 mobile instead. Since people wanted to play it on a “home console” this one would make the most sense.

Damn it, I wanted to play Sonic 1 on the OUYA that would’ve been the ONLY redeeming factor for having the OUYA. But NOOOOPE more of Sonic 4, the TRUE SUCCESSOR OF SONIC 3&KNUCKLES!!! Go to hell Ken Bagel, I’m sick of your satanistic sh!t.

I’d imagine that will not happen until Taxman and Stealth bugfix Sonic 1 first.

@Bartman: I think I have an answer to this. The Sonic 4 episodes and, likely, Sonic CD don’t have native controller support, while Sonic. 1 does (don’t quote me on this). Like the nVIDIA Shield, the Sonic 4s (mostly Ep. 2) will most likely be taking advantage of the Ouya’s superior processor, which means higher res models, textures, and shaders(maybe?). Again, just theoretical. As for CD, again maybe it’ll just strip the whole dependency on touch, while Sonic 1 already supports controllers.

Or I can be completely wrong but it makes sense, don’t it? :v

All of those games on Android have native controller support, Episode 2, CD and Sonic 1 also have MOGA controller support (Which basically means they have proper button assignments as opposed to native USB controllers having…baseline support where all the buttons are mapped to jump) In fact, when I streamed Sonic 1 I was using my MOGA controller.

Its probably just to “Test the waters” while Tax and Stealth refine their Sonic 1 port for other platforms.

I know wii u is getting 3 sonic games, but if they’re bringing sonic 4 to ouya why not bring it to Wii U?
Or at least bring sonic cd over to wii u.

Because Nintendo is slow as ass cheeks with their VC line for some reason. I seriously won’t stop wondering why they don’t just make their own line of emulation code and start listing their library, because at this rate it’s going to be over a year (or more) until we see N64/Gamecube integration. If at all.

This is next reason why Sega needs his new own console since Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).
