Last Friday, me and the Retro crew sat through the precursor of Sonic Robo Blast 2; Sonic Doom 2 – Bots on Mobius, a total conversion of Doom II: Hell on Earth that attempts to bring the aesthetics of the Sonic universe with guns. Well, sort of. We play through the mod to it’s completion, for better or worse as I jog my memory of this mod from over 10 years ago. Sonic fan games during the 90’s were certainly something else and somehow, I spent some time of my youth playing this. Probably more than I should have.
If you want to play the mod for yourself, SSNTails recently updated the mod to be compatible with zDoom and you can find it here.

Baaahahaahaha… Great stuff guys. Fixing some of the problems in the mod had been eating at me for, well, 15 years. 🙂
If I had more time, I’d probably work on it more, but I’m making mobile games now.

Hahahahaha glad you guys ‘enjoyed’ it. I was surprised at how creepily fun it was even after, well…15 years. Gosh, I’m old.
BTW, your version of ZDoom is too old.. v2.6 and up supports Floor-Over-Floor, and the bridge will show up in GFZ.
Gah, these new versions of Z Doom always creep up on me. Thanks for clarifying that.
@SSNTails: it brought us joy in our usual curmudgeon-y Retro way (it wouldn’t be Retro the Internet expects with us being all crabby about things!)
But really, some of those textures made my eyeballs explode. You won’t believe how hard it is to clean a monitor of blood and gore-y bits when you have no eyeballs.
This is great i wanna see more mods on this…
Am I allowed to say that SRB2 is more superior than some of the more recent official Sonic games?

Do I run this mod on SRB2 or Doom 2?
It requires the latest version of ZDoom, along with a *.wad file of Doom 2.
