Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed: The (incredibly late) interview

Once upon a summer, your fearless correspondent went to Brighton for Summer of Sonic. There, he braved seagulls, rain and hundreds of other Sonic fans to get interviews with Takashi Iizuka and Jun Senoue. Those, you have seen. What you won’t have seen is the interview with Steve Lycett and Tim Spencer of Sumo Digital. That’s because, erm… we forgot to put it up.

Still, the good news is that because the game is out soon, you can now have all the latest information from July! Naturally the information contained within will be common knowledge, what with the interview having been recorded four months ago and all. However, you can still hear Sumo’s thoughts on designing for multiple vehicle types, testers with Sega knowledge deficits, and theoretical control systems for a version of the game that hasn’t been confirmed to exist at all.

So, what are you waiting for? (What were we waiting for?) Start the player, you!

Sonic Adventure 2 Finally Confirmed For PC, Out Monday

PC owners that absolutely NEED their Sonic Adventure 2 fix can finally begin throwing their money toward their local Steam client. No, it’s not time for the yearly flogging of the wallet from Steam sales so much as Sega has finally confirmed via Twitter that SA2 and its Battle DLC will be touching down on the client on Monday, Nov. 19.

While the game offers little change from its original presentations other than proper widescreen support and some touched up textures, that’s sure to keep some fans of the game quite happy. No word on the cost or what online functionality the PC version will have, but we’re hedging our bets on the usual $9.99 price for the game and $2.99 for Battle, with leaderboards only as the online functionality.

Be sure to check out our review to see if you want to go for the PC version or remain loyal to your Dreamcast or Gamecube discs.

Demo for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Now on Xbox Live

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is now out in stores in Europe and in the US as well in stores that broke the street date. At the same time SEGA released a demo for the game on Xbox Live and a launch trailer with models playing the game and making wacky faces. Because there wasn’t one of those yet for the game apparently.

The demo is 1.05 GB big and contains two events from the game’s World Tour mode. One is a race on the Panzer Dragoon track and the other is a challenge on the Golden Axe track in which you need to boost to stop a timer that is counting down. Those who want to try out one of the new playable characters will be disappointed as Sonic is the sole playable characters in the demo. You can’t download the trial on PSN yet, as it only updates on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
