Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Gamescom Trailer Reveals New Tracks and Wii U Version Details

With Gamescom starting in a couple of days SEGA has released a new trailer for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed just before the event actually starts. This trailer reveals various new tracks based on After BurnerSkies of ArcadiaSamba De Amigo and Starlight Carnival from Sonic Colours. There are also a couple of new screenshots, one which shows that Sumo Digital’s favorite Sonic zone, Seaside Hill from Sonic Heroes will once again be represented in their latest game.

IGN also put up a preview of the Wii U version revealing some of the exclusive features that iteration of the game will have, all of them using the new Gamepad. The screen on the Gamepad will show additional info like the current order the racers are in, a mini-map and close-ups of the power-up you’re using hitting it’s target. The Gamepad can also be used as a steering wheel by tilting it left and right and there are various mini-games where one player is using the Gamepad’s screen and other players are using Classic or Pro Controllers. One such mini-game is ‘Super Monkey Ball Arena’, where the player with the Gamepad controls AiAi trying to squash the other players with the ball he is walking around in.

Are you sure that’s Afterburner? It might be, but it could also be Metal Harbor…

I didn’t see Seaside Hill, I saw a battleship stage that looks like it might be Metal Harbor from SA2 though.

That Super Monkey Ball Arena thing actually sounds pretty interesting. I’m glad Sumo is actually thinking of things to add to differentiate the Wii U version from its other HD brethren.

Actually looks like a lot of fun.

Man, why so much Sonic?? He’s dominated the game’s box art, the entire trailer, and even the title! Sega, Sonic gets enough attention already. You don’t need to do this to us.

Anyways, this looks cool! I was surprised to see Starlight Carnival return…

Oh yeah After Burner ftw, and finally we get to see Starlight Carnival, my favorite level from Sonic Colors in glorious HD!

@mightyXtreme You DO realize the Wii U is HD too!

So am I the only one sick of Seaside Hill? I don’t mind it, as long as it’s pulled off well, but I’d like to see something else from Sonic’s repertoire. Starlight Carnival is nice, although I hope it’s not there due to the similarities of it and Star Light.

But whatever, I’ll still like the game, I just like bitching like every other Sonic fan.

@Hero Of Fate: Isn’t the Wii U HD?

I probably worded that a bit awkwardly. What am I saying is, it’s good they’re making the Wii U version more than just a perfect port of the PS3/360 version (depending on what the lead platform was). Since you know, it has more added to it aside from the looking pretty factor.

Aside from Starlight carnival. Can they do other stages That aren’t in sonic fucking heroes.
My god they spam that game to death.
    .
They need to do somthing from some sonic unleashed Sa2 or the classic games.
my vote is on chu nan for unle.ashed.
Final Rush , and city escape from SA2.
and from the classic games. Wacky Workbench.
    Aquatic ruin. And Hydrocity zone.

@mightyXtreme: It might be metal harbor but where are all the loopde loops

I kinda wished for Palmtree Panic instead of fuckin’ Seaside Hill, but a friend of mine pointed out how Angel Island would be perfect for the fact it’s an island floating over the sea so it has all three areas!

Also Crazy Gadget or Metal Harbor from Sonic Adventure 2!

Metal Harbor from SA2? That is Ridiculous. That stage is After Burner. Look at the planes on fire.
IF a stage from SA2 is going to be in transformed is has to be White Jungle or Green Forest(it also has water in it).

My guess is the Afterburner stage will have Metal Harbor as alternate music or something.
