As a research site on the good (and bad) of the Sonic series, we couldn’t possibly let this one slip past us.
Russian Sonic site Sonic Scene posted what appears to be the music used in the very first trailer of the later ill-regarded Sonic The Hedgehog (2006). What’s special about all of this is the track was never used in game or, more over, released in any sort of auditory form aside from a trailer with off-mic noise.
But thanks to the efforts of Russian Sonic fan Mefiresu, he found a song that is strikingly similar to the audio used in the video. You can grab the near-five minute clip and listen for yourself right here.

Sounds like it was recorded right off the TV’s speakers.
it always bugged me how that trailer never made it to the final game nor anything from it, watching it brings back memories though, i remember 5 years ago how excited i was towards this game, it was truly a fun game to me, wish SEGA can make an adventure game again like the 10th and 15th anniversaries but instead we’ll be getting yet another Sonic Rush clone 🙁
Unleashed and Colours pass you by? Besides, this game was awful on every level.
Colors was good but not as good as 06, Unleashed just sucked balls, sorry if my opinion doesn’t make sense to Sonic Retro but i’m among many others found this to be a great game and the last game that actually interested me in the Sonic series!
How is Generations a Rush clone? It’s using the formula for the classic games. Also, how could you POSSIBLY have liked a game as terrible as Sonic Next Gen?
Unleashed was a Rush clone, and Generations’ modern Sonic levels are the same way, classic Sonic is just 2.5D and should not be called a 3D game!
to each his opinion, i like Sonic games to be for exploring and i like dark stories, also multiple characters and new moves to learn, how could anyone not like that?
I cant believe how far they strayed away from this trailer.
It is FAR from new… -_-‘
Game was garbage, but it did have some good music. This is no exception.
