Less than a week remains on the countdown! Giving credit where it is certainly due, today’s Dev Blog update looks at the talent behind the art direction and animation of S2HD.
We’d like to post up questions on the blog that the project’s followers here on Retro have for individual staff members as well, so sound off in the comments!

I love you guys
So what happens at the end of the countdown?
I guess the site opens and hopefully, a demo of Sonic 2 HD will be released to the Sonic Retro public.
So Scanline is behind this pure-awesome logo ? That’s a damn good work.
yay the logo looks awsome
These bios are… just… wow.
So.. is this a development blog or a developer blog? All I see right now is a lot of e-penis stroking.
People want to know what’s happening on the product itself, not tldr;s about the staff on-board. And, if you must do that, people usually do that after the product is out, or inbetween development posts to break up the quiet times..
.. unless that’s because this is one huge quiet time where there’s no development. ¯\(°_o)/¯
Not everyone is familiar with those who are on staff, what their jobs are, and what they’ve done, thus we’re starting things out with profiles and building from there. It is most definitely meant to be a development blog of the project, and we’ll be talking about how the development has/is progressing very soon. We know that the juicy bits are what many are waiting for, and they’re coming.
I’m all for knowing what the staff do, but I don’t think we need CV/resume-esque peppered up descriptions of them.
The “juicy bits”, as you call them, all the *only* bits people want. We don’t really care that person X drew the frames by hand, or that person Y sees Yuji Naka as his personal mentor, etc. etc. (At least, not at this point), what we want is content, something S2HD has been lacking for the longest time.
You want to put staff descriptions rivalling those of a media magazine? Put them on a staff-specific page, not in the bloody development blog, where development is meant to be shown, hence the name.
:/
I don’t mean to offend but if you would look closely you would see that it states that it is a DevelopER JOURNAL. That has information about who did what and info about them. It says that’s what it is. Not once does it say it is a Development blog.
.. you’re right, it does say that. Huh. Well, there’s goes my interest in it entirely!
At least, like… make the descriptions of the team members less outrageous. I especially cringed at LOst’s description. As cool as he is, “looking beyond the pixels” is silly.
I hope it’s better then that Sonic 2 HD beta test program lol.
Will Act III have a boss at the end?
I….wow. I know nothing about this HD remake of Sonic 2 but with a sweet-ass logo like that? That…mmmm…<3
..so this'll be free to download, right? Will we get emulators and proper software in order to play it? A curious mind wants to know.
The download will be free, yes. The alpha will be meant to be a standalone program not requiring an external emulator.
oh wow…thanks a lot for the response. <3 This is quite cool. Although do know that if it ever popped up on something like Steam, I'd donate money just because it sounds like one hell of a project.
10 minutes!
