Sonic Lost World Demos For Wii U and 3DS Up On the eShop In Japan (UPDATE)

SLW_0430_1windy1_10

UPDATE: This week’s releases for the Wii U and 3DS eShop in the US and Europe don’t include the Sonic Lost World demo, so it looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer for it.

Those who want to try out Sonic Lost World before it releases may not have to wait long, as a demo for both the Wii U and 3DS was released on the eShop today in Japan. This means that it’s likely that a demo will also be released in the US and/or Europe tomorrow, because the eShop updates on Thursdays in those regions.

The Wii U demo includes the first Windy Hill Zone, while the 3DS demo includes a tutorial level and the first Windy Hill zone.

Demo for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Now on Xbox Live

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is now out in stores in Europe and in the US as well in stores that broke the street date. At the same time SEGA released a demo for the game on Xbox Live and a launch trailer with models playing the game and making wacky faces. Because there wasn’t one of those yet for the game apparently.

The demo is 1.05 GB big and contains two events from the game’s World Tour mode. One is a race on the Panzer Dragoon track and the other is a challenge on the Golden Axe track in which you need to boost to stop a timer that is counting down. Those who want to try out one of the new playable characters will be disappointed as Sonic is the sole playable characters in the demo. You can’t download the trial on PSN yet, as it only updates on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Crush3D Demo Now in the Nintendo 3DS eShop

Zoe Mode and Sega returns with their Playstation Portable puzzle platformer (That’s P to the fourth power.)  now on the Nintendo 3DS. The demo for the game was released in the US Nintendo eShop for all to download this week. Those who are curious about the 3DS edition of Crush will notice that while the gameplay itself has not changed, the aesthetics have taken a turn to look cleaner and less disturbing than the game’s tone and plot on how Danny travels to the depths of his mind. Possibly due to the developer’s attempt to gain attention of a wider audience considering some of the other titles put out by the developer including Chime and Haunt. The game will be available for US retail by next week but is already available in the UK in stores along with the demo on the eShop. Impressions on the demo, including some of the differences between both versions of the game can be found after the jump.

US Nintendo 3DS eShop Offers Mario and Sonic 2012 Olympic Games Demo

Nintendo has recently released demos for the eShop on Nintendo 3DS which primarily consist of retail released games, this also means as of Thursday a release for the demo of the hotly anticipated Sonic the Hedgehog title coming out in February. That’s right, the 3DS edition of Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Hold your applause please. Keep in mind that each downloaded demo from the eShop has a limit of thirty uses. Look through the Game Demos section of the store, or search for the game to download the game to the 3DS system. If you rather hold out for the full version, or don’t live in the US, but still carry an interest, be sure to hit the jump for impressions.

Sonic Generations PC Demo Now Up On Steam

While the PC version of Sonic Generations has been out for a couple of months now, there hasn’t been a demo people could download to see if their PC could actually run the game. SEGA decided PC users have waited long enough now and has released one on the Steam service. While I don’t know for certain what the contents of the demo are, it’s easy to assume that it’s the same demo the console versions got, which had both classic and modern acts of Green Hill Zone.

You can download the demo on this page, you will need to download the Steam client to be able to play it.

Sonic Generations Second Demo Confirmed

In a surprising, yet not that surprising move, Sega announced today that a second Sonic Generations demo would be available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 ahead of its release date on November 4th.

The first demo of the game featured both classic and modern Sonic in Green Hill Zone, though the levels and contents of this second demo are yet to be announced. Europeans will be able to download the demo October 19th (Wednesday!) No word yet on whether North America and other regions will have access the same day.

Update: The release date is in fact November 4, not 5. Tiny netbooks have tiny keyboards. Sorry, guys.

Sonic Generations Demo Live Tomorrow, Expires In 20 Days

To those of you who patiently waited and didn’t get a chance to sample the demo at Sonic Boom for whatever reason, your waiting is over. Starting tomorrow, both Xbox Live and PSN will be receiving the demo to Sonic’s upcoming adventure.
Unlike the Sonic Boom build patrons got to sample, this version will only feature Classic Sonic’s version of Green Hill Zone Act 1, omitting Modern Sonic entirely.

One small catch: the demo will only be available for 20 days. After that, the demo will be removed from the services and downloaded copies will expire. Whether this is an anti-hacking measure or a way to build up hype by releasing a second demo with modern Sonic remains to be seen.

Fox Xbox Live users, the same rule as other demos applies in that Gold level users will be getting the demo first with Silver level peons waiting until next week. Don’t think burning demos to a disc works, as members on our forum are saying that no longer works.

Demo aside, Sega will also release a 20th Anniversary Bundle consisting of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, Sonic Adventure (and its DX add-on), and the Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 dynamic theme on PSN for $19.99/£13.99/€17.99. A similar deal is expected for Xbox Live users. The offer also expires on July 12.
